POSTPONED: Refuge Ceremony

  • 29 Mar 2020

  • Pilgrim Chapel,

Join us for our Refuge Ceremony!

POSTPONED TO A LATER DATE

In the Buddhist tradition, the purpose of taking refuge is to awaken from confusion and associate oneself with wakefulness. Taking refuge is a matter of commitment and acceptance and, at the same time, of openness and freedom. By taking the refuge vow we commit ourselves to freedom.

It will be a Triple Gem service!  Come join our Sangha for meditation, chanting, Refuge vows and incense offering.  Everyone is invited to participate in taking or renewing refuge vows.

What Taking Refuge Means

This is an invitation to begin the exploration into the practice of awakening in each and every moment. We take refuge in the mentor of human awareness, in the teachings that help to point the way and the companionship of the practicing community. There are no preliminary requirements to participating in fact some will recite the ancient vows and offer incense for the first time, and others are invited to renew their commitment again and again.

No sign-up is required, just show up!
